im looking for a really good HEPA air filter for around $300?
i would like an air filter for my room (sorta a mediumish sized room with high ceilings). it must be HEPA or another similiar technology that doesnt emite ozone or other harmful stuff back into the air (no air ionizers). i would like to get rid of bactiria/virus, pollen, and odors out of the air (especially tobbaco smoke).. etc. dont want to spend too much… around 0 or so. iv been looking around but im not so sure. i have really sensitive sence of smell and allergies and the stagnet air and the guy smoking 3 floors down really gets to me.
i mean an actual air purifier.

Good air purifier for smoke?
I am a medical marijuana user, a card carryer in Canada.
My landlord has given me permission to smoke in the apartment, if I can eliminate the smell.
I have a one room apartment, literally 3 feet from my door is the other persons door, and they are conservative & hate marijuana and would cause problems (this is what the landlord told me)
How can I eliminate the smoke smell?
Someone said an air purifier, what if I got this

Would that get rid of the smell atleast to the hallway?
If I put it near my shoe area by the door or something so any foul smelling smoke that goes over there will be purified?
I don’t know too well how it works, and I dunno if that’s strong enough to get rid of marijuana smell or anything.
My room isn’t very big, maybe 40-45 feet one way, and like 20-30 feet the other.
If that’s not good enough, could someone who knows about air purifiers look for one on a similiar site? Or reccomend another brand and stuff?

Are refrigerator air ionizers any better than baking soda?
There are many models of little battery operated fridge air purifiers available, but there aren’t many reviews that I can find. These things ionize the air and create small amounts of ozone that are supposed to keep mold, bacteria and odors to a minimum. Are they worth buying or should one just stick with the old baking soda in the fridge standard?
Ok, so a box of baking soda isn’t the gold standard, but has anyone out there tried one of the fridge air ionizers?

Air radicals without ions?
I recognize that commercial air ionizers, photocatalytic oxidation (PCO), electrostatic precipitators and other technologies that apply energy (such as UV light or high voltage) can cause reactions in the air and bond breakages that lead to a "chemical soup" of different molecular intermediates, including both certain air ions (such as superoxide anion and likely H+) and neutrally-charged air radicals (such as hydroxyl radical or ozone).
What I would like to know is if there is any reaction or physical process that would lead to the formation of neutrally-charged free radicals in the air, without also forming charged air ions simultaneously?
Further is it safe to assume that the reactivity of ions that form in the air would be lower than those of free radicals (i.e. hydroxyl radical supposedly has a half-life in microseconds) – in other words, air ions are more chemically stable than gaseous air free radicals?
And finally, is there any inexpensive way for a person to be able to measure the concentration of free radicals in the air?
