How can I tell if the ionizer on my air filter creates ozone?

I know not all ionizer air filters create ozone, and I have pets that I can’t have near ozone. Other ions are fine. I just haven’t been using the "Performance booster" for fear it creates ozone. I have Holmes HAP412N-U HEPA-Type Mini Tower Air Purifier.

Thanks!

as far as I know, all electrical air filters create ozone to some degree, I dont know your particular model, so make an enquiry with the manufacturer,

*All* electrical appliances create ozone. Anything they tell you to the contrary is "sales speak", aka. lies.

As far as that goes, "other ions" include NOx… which is far more toxic than ozone is.

Don’t run it when you, your pets, or your plants are in the house.
